I’d like to thank all our supporters of Liberia Mercy Partners, Containers of Hope and For The Lamb, for your generosity this past year! 2022 has been a good year for Africa Mercy Partners. We give thanks to the Lord for supplying funds for the Organizations we support in Liberia. Here are some of the highlights of the year:
There are 6 other children that are waiting for help in Liberia. Liberia has no doctors who can do this surgery. We hope to send these 6 children to Ghana where the there are facilities to help them. The cost is $9,000 per child. Church Development We work closely with Community Churches Ministries (CCM). CCM has planted over 50 churches in Liberia and the adjoining countries of Sierra Leone, Guinea, and Ivory Coast. Liberia Mercy Partners supports the training of church planters, purchase of land for churches, and the building of churches. Currently we support their work in Guinea that is reaching an unengaged people group in the middle of the country. We pray for a church plant to be made there soon. Pictured is Rev. Jasper Williams and his wife Karen. Jasper is the General Overseer of the CCM Church. He broke his foot when he fell off a motorcycle while on a training trip to the eastern part of Liberia. The road was terrible and accidents like this are frequent. They are dedicated to church planting in West Africa. Ministry out in the Bush We have been working with with Rev. Jackson Quenisear and his wife Harriet for the past 12 years. Jackson and Harriet were given 100 acres of land in the bush area of Bong County, Liberia by Jackson’s father. They desired to have an orphanage and build a school and church for surrounding area of Bellemu. They have had at least 30 children in the orphanage since the second year they began. They started with a “stick” school (see photo) and now have 3 school buildings for over 300 students. They have the only high school within 20 miles of Bellemu. Their first graduation of 9 students occurred 5 years ago. LMP sent those 9 graduates to two universities and they all graduated last year. 6 of the students are now teachers in their school in Bellemu. New School Building Pastor Roberts had a small church and school on a hill near Monrovia, Liberia. We began working with him 6 years ago. Since that time we have built a house and a church and school down the hill from his original place. Today the school has over 250 students and the church attendance is over 300 now. Pastor Robert’s 8 year old son passed away and he and his wife started the Sando Roberts Orphanage. Today they have 25 children that are orphans from the Ebola pandemic that hit Liberia several years ago. We plan this year to refurbish the leaky building to house the orphans and finish the 2nd story of the Soul Harvest Mission School. Faithful Servant We could not do our work in Liberia without Rev. Prince Kpewoan. Rev. Kpewoan has been our country director since we began work in Liberia 16 years ago, Rev. Kpewoan is also the general Secretary of over 400 Inland Churches in Liberia and the surrounding countries. This is a photo of Rev. Kpewoan and his wife Lydia. Prince is an Evangelist at heart and is always giving tracks and Bibles to those he meets throughout Liberia. Prince is respected by everyone. We thank the Lord for the work he does with us. For the Lamb Lastly, we are privileged to have an American family in Liberia who have a separate ministry called “For the Lamb”, but work under Africa Mercy Partners’ non-profit umbrella. Jesse and Jessica Phillips have been in Liberia for the past 7 years and with us for the past 5. Jesse operates a construction company called Kingdom Builders, building with compressed earth bricks. The Phillips adopted a Liberia child named Job, and have two biological children, Semira and Kaius. Jesse and Jessica have been a huge help co-ordinating activities in Liberia with our partners. We would like to wish you all a very blessed Christmas and New Year,
Ken DeWitt - President Africa Mercy Partner |
